[Even after being in Somarium for about a month or so, Euphie still wasn't quite accustomed to how things worked. Having things revert back to the 1920s a week or two after arriving certainly didn't help her confusion either.

And the whole dead people being brought back to life here aspect? Not the easiest pill to swallow, especially when your ( Read more... )

[Lelouch hasn't spoken to his younger sister yet. In fact, he's been avoiding speaking to her since he learned of her arrival... It's not something he ever wanted to face - the past is in the past and he wanted to leave it that way... at least, with her, he did.

With Clovis, he didn't care, the man had always been a bother and he would have no problem shooting him at point blank range again. But Euphemia? He loved her, he still does love her, he always had and always will. And he never planned on killing her, he didn't want her to die, but it was necessary and sometimes drastic measures have to be taken to further the lives and goals of others.

However, this is Somarium, where the boundaries created by death are ripped apart and no longer significant in one's life.

Now is as good a time as any to talk to her, right? Ah, their relationship will only be based on lie after lie after beautiful lie from this point onward. It's a shame, but it can't be helped.]Each month is welcomed with the arrival of new residents, Euphemia, ( ... )

[When Euphemia hears the voice, then sees the face, she's overcome with many emotions almost simultaneously -- happiness, apprehension, concern (for his well-being, naturally), and most importantly, relief.

Despite having seen him right before arriving in Somarium, she feels as though it's been years since she last saw Lelouch, saw her beloved brother. And who knows, maybe it has been years since she's seen the true Lelouch -- the one she met again on Kaminejima merely reminiscent of the little boy she spent her days with as a youth.

The thought of being reunited with her brother and sister long thought to be dead -- this time for good (hopefully) -- was enough to bring tears to her eyes. She gave no thought to the fact that Lelouch was also Zero, who was responsible for the death of another of her dear brothers, Clovis. No, that wasn't the way she wanted to remember either of her brothers.

So with a shaky smile, she speaks to him, teasing:]Brother, don't you know it's not polite to keep a lady waiting? I've been here a month and ( ... )

[The smile on his face is faint as he desperately tries to keep the mask from slipping from his face.]

My apologies, my dearest sister, but I've been a bit indisposed since your arrival and have only recently had the opportunity to contact you. Would you please forgive me?

[A light giggle, followed by a bright smile.]

Of course I forgive you, Lelouch! I could never be mad at my dearest big brother.

[Upon hearing that he had been indisposed for so long, however, she frowns a bit.]

But you say you've been unwell? Is everything alright?...

...I'm sorry I can't be any help, Euphie. I can't really tell you much, myself.

Nunnally! [A warm smile.] Please don't apologize. After all, you only just arrived right before I did, so I can imagine you have many similar questions.

Have you been well, sister?

I do, actually.

[She nods.] Yes, I've been well. What about you? Have you been settling in alright?

That's reassuring to hear. [Because she can't help but worry about Nunnally, especially in such a strange place.]

Yes, I'm quite alright, thank you Nunnally. I've just been a bit thrown off by whatever happened a few weeks ago.

Ahh, yes. It's around this time of month that new faces appear. However regarding last week... No. That was rather odd even by Somarium's standards.

Sir Mozart, it's lovely to see you! I trust you've been well?

And thank you very much for the information. It's always nice to be prepared for new arrivals so you know when to look. As for last week's events, I'm certainly relieved to hear that such occurrences aren't the norm here.

I've been as well as one can manage here. You appear in good spirits considering everything. Last week was rather tolling on me, to say the very least.

It's nice to hear that you've been relatively well. As for myself, yes, I'd say my spirits are quite high. Being reunited with a majority of your siblings here is a good way to make anyone happy, I'd venture.

I'm terribly sorry to hear such a thing, Sir. But you're alright now, I hope?
