[When he fell asleep the night before, the bird was still clutched tightly to his chest, still and lifeless in his arms.
By morning, it was gone. Everything was just as it had been before, as if the whole event was just a bad dream.
Oswald stirs, the morning light filtering in through the curtains. He opens a bleary red eye, looking down at the bird--or what he thought was a bird, anyway. Nn... [Renee shook her head a little at the sound of the Knight's voice, her dark eyes opening slowly as she looked over the bloody white coat she had been wearing the night before... except now it was clean as well.
The blonde shifted her position a bit so that she could look up at Oswald...she had remembered falling asleep there with him, but it felt hazy now.] I fell asleep here when you...Are...you alright?
[He's quiet for a moment, watching her.] So... it did happen.
[He frowns when she asks.] I'm fine. [Quietly, maybe unsure.
He slips off the bed, on the side opposite to Renee. His Belderiver rests against the bedstand there. He picks the psypher up. It glows brightly in his hands, perhaps grateful to be reunited with its master.]
[She glanced back at him, not believing him for a second.] ... Oswald. I... [The woman stood and adjusted herself to be a little more presentable--but oh gods her back hurt like all seven hells from sitting up all night.]
... guess it did.
I think you look better like that. [Her shoulders rose in a shrug, but really...she didn't know what to say. She wanted to mention to bird, but seeing him like that...
