Aw, now see, that's what I love about Grissom/Sara. I admit I'm generally on the fence about whether I like them together or not, but it's fic like this that makes me love them. ♥

This was very nice, I like pieces where Grissom's deafness forces him to focus on things in a different way from how he normally would.
If I could make a constructive criticism, you might like to look at the way you've used the words "engrossed" and "animosity" I don't think their dictionary meanings quite match what you intended to say.

Thanks!

I agree on the "animosity" bit, I think I meant "articulacy."

Or possibly animation?

I felt enveloped might be better than engrossed, which usually means to be absorbed by something interesting, but hey, your story, your choice of words. With a language as broad and rich as English it's always fun to play around.

In my current story I was very keen to find exactly the right word for Grissom's expression so I wrote down a whole bunch of possibilities and looked each one up in my dictionary. I ended up picking "imploring" because the Latin it comes from is specifically related to using tears to get something.
How much of a nerd does that make me? (Actually I think it might make me an etymologist - not to be confused with an entomologist of course.)
