jlneveloff Grissom lifted his head from the magnifier and looked at Sara. She was examining a bloodstained shirt. It was late and they had been on this case for a while.
“So the vic was walking home from the store, she gets hit by the bus and there is….”
And just like that her voice became very distant and he couldn’t make out her words anymore. Again, he was engrossed in this silence that had bothered him so much lately. The vacuum of unrecognizable sounds; blurred and isolated. This time he was not concerned though, he was tired and actually welcomed a break. He continued looking at her while she turned to face him and went on with her speech. He loved watching her talk. He could hear her voice very far away…
“…It gets me every time. One day he is just a loving father and the next…”
Her deep tone and the tangy way she spoke were always so sexy.
He could see that she was getting excited talking about the case. He could read her like a book. Her brown eyes were always so full of life and energy even when she seemed composed on the outside. She was never good at hiding her feelings; they were out there for everyone to see. Her black hair flattered her light skin and sensual eyes, she was a dark beauty. He especially liked when she wore a touch of red lipstick.
He was staring at her. Nothing new, really. When she looked at him, she always made him feel like the only person in the room. He rejected that feeling at first, but then got used to it. Now she explained something with such expression and such grace. Her neck was perfect and probably very soft, her lips would most likely sting.
In one simple move he put his hand on the side of her round metal chair and wheeled her close to him. He held that moment, his wrist touching the outside of her thigh. He noticed that she stopped talking and could feel her soft breath on his face. Grissom took his time; he watched her get nervous. Her eyes were searching his face and he didn’t know what news she was looking for.
Grissom wasn’t worried because when he actually had time to think about anything except his cases and bugs, he thought of Sara. He always knew how good and how right this would be. He never doubted his feelings; he just never gave them enough thought.
He kissed her slowly, no tongue. Just her yielding lips and the sweetness of her taste. He lingered there for a bit and kissed her again. Harder this time, drawing his breath and sensing her eager reply.
He didn’t know if his hearing was still impaired or there was just nothing else around them. When he kissed her for the third time, his palm touched her cheek and he held her close for a while.
Slowly pulling away, Sara licked her lips and looked directly into his eyes.
“So… Do you agree with me?” she said smiling with her brightest of smiles.
Grissom nodded, curling his lips into that seductive smirk of his. “Yeah.”
