I keep an empty plastic jar on top of the toilet paper roll. My Shelties like to decorate also. Allie scallops the edges and Conner unwinds the roll.
Anyway, the jar makes a loud noise when it hits the tile floor and it scared them enough that they don't bother the roll any more. I am still keeping the jar on there just in case however.

That is genius! I actually turned the roll to the "smart way," and they haven't bothered it since. But if they figure that out, then I will use the jar trick!
