I love teaching the students "hazeh"! By that point they KNOW that "ha" is the, but it doesn't translate well at all.

Heh! How do they react to that? {Haze is basically "the that" = "this"}

They don't get it. I say that this is why literal translations are rarely done.

It would be a difficult word for English speakers. XD

Have I asked you yet how they react to 'et' and no 'am/is/are/was/were'? That really interests me.
