A couple folks asked how the cats are doing. Fish and Sif are all right, just bitchy and crazy, respectively. Sif doesn't do much, and Fish mostly skulks and poops on the floor, so, nothing terribly photogenic going on there.

I've learned that the best way to wrap presents is to give Chihiro a sacrificial piece of wrapping paper, and then shut her out of the room I'm trying to wrap in. She'll leave wrapped presents alone as long as she has her sacrificial piece- and it has to be a decent-sized piece, too. But once she's bored with it after a few weeks, I put said sheet back in the closet and give it to her again the next time I need to wrap something. Sometimes this works and other times she demands a fresh sacrifice.

Oh, cats. *pets Chihiro* I got an extra blanket out the other day due to the temperature deciding to drop 40 degrees and the building not keeping up. She has claimed this blanket as her nest and I can't bear to put it away, she looks so COMFY on it.

Yeah, when they decide they really love something, it becomes impossible to move them off it without feeling crushing guilt.

I will have to try the sacrificial piece of wrapping paper, because these boys are HUGE pains in the ass about it.

When we ordered those books from Createspace, they'd send us boxes, and the extra space would be packed with long crinkled-up coils of packing paper, like the stuff paper grocery bags are made of. We still have FOUR of them lying around the house because Etrigan loves diving into them and rolling in them and throwing his mouse in there and jumping after it SO MUCH we can't bring ourselves to take it away from him.

Although to be really, REALLY creepy, Copernicus is a REAL taxidermied monkey with a deteriorating face that Jenny/The Bloggess chased around her husband with, going: "I want to eat your faaaaaaace! Your skin looks delicious!"

Etrigan is beautiful and really looks like a demon spawn! *LOL* And that's an adorable picture of Smooch! That's really sweet that you comfort him after he has nightmares. :) Poor kitty!

He's so pitiful and looks like such a big helpless baby when he wakes up from one. It makes me sad to think that he gets scared in his sleep and freaks out. I know those feels, bro.

Okay, I am sure it would not have been as funny if I had been there to be alarmed by the noise, but that is, from a distance, hilarious.

He doesn't appear to have a cleft palate so much as his whole face and mouth is just kind of warped and twisted, and that one side of his face is squished in. I do think he's beautiful, still, he's just extra-silly, too.
