I used to hear voices, in the dark, before I went to sleep. A low murmuring, always male, either incomprehensible or nonsense words strung together with the cadence of speech. *hugs*

My heart goes out to you, I did that to cope with things after my marriage fell apart, I'd have long conversations with no one, because I missed having someone to have those little talks with just as I was drifting off..

I hope you get some measure of peace and some excellent dreams with Tazendra

I don't find missing the cat strange at all. They DO pick us after all. And we love them for the attention.

I am totally with you on the dream thing. If that's the only way to see them again, then by all means. I still dream about cats I've had (or who had me) and so far it's always been a bittersweet delight to see them again.

I wouldn't say talking yourself to sleep is insane. It's just another way to distract the brain until it goes under.

Wanting to dream of your cat is NOT pathetic in any way. It's perfectly normal to want to see someone you loved again, and that's the only way to do it.

I do wonder if the other cats will become more cuddly with her gone. Sometimes they do.
