He put a what in your where, now?

That was an interesting visit.

The doctor, henceforth called "Boots," spent about half an hour discussing options and likely treatments with me. In the end, I elected the way of pain to begin with the least invasive option and work up from there. So: the Mirena IUD. And it frankly shocked the hell out of me when he indicated he could try to put ( Read more... )

Thus I continue in my tradition of being stupidly proud of myself for doing shit that other adults do all the time.

Nothing stupid about that. We all have our thing. Congrats on a successful visit!

Uterine ablation was pretty much my best option because:

1.) Hormones fuck me up
2.) I don't want kids and have never wanted to be pregnant
3.) IUDs involve sticking stuff in my uterus and frankly that squicks me.

I think perhaps you're mentally squicked more than actually hurt. If so, I hope it passes quickly.

Good luck to you. Menstruation like ours is shitty and crippling, and I hope you don't have to deal with it ever again.

be proud. it's not stupid at all. no one truly knows your personal obstacles but you.

and i am glad that you went ahead and went, even though you had so much anxiety you would have been incredibly justified not to. here's to hoping the next time IS easier.

It was bad, but I only seriously thought about bailing once. Other people love me too much for me to feel good about putting off necessary care because "I really don't want to." I have sympathy for my own fear, but my love for my friends and Sargon can actually motivate me out of it.

YAY! I'm so glad you found a good doc you like and who listens to you. :) I hope the IUD works, though if you need to go with a more invasive procedure, endometrial ablation is supposed to be wonderful. I shall keep my fingers crossed that all goes well!
