In about twenty minutes I'm going to meet my sister at my grandparents' house. The empty house. We're going through and divide up all the paintings done by my mother and my grandmother. But a part of me is frustrated by the fact that strength not a sure thing. I'm not as strong as everyone makes me out to be - nobody is. Others' confidence in me is no guarantee that I will succeed, or that things will come out okay.

Nobody is, but strength is fluid; it comes when you need it most and often brings grace with it.

That's so true. It is fluid, and if we're not deliberately blocking it one way or the other, it flows into us when we need it, and out of us when we are needed. It's like water in the desert . . . it's not always there in large amounts, but you can live on what you can find. And it amazes me what people can accomplish with very little strength at all. We generally do okay, we human beings, with what little understanding and grace is given to us.
