The Walking Dead.

Really, that should be the name of a band. The Walking Dead.

I feel like crap today. Triple-A craaapI gave blood yesterday, so it's my own stupid fault really. I probably should have waited until next week. I usually start gut-loading myself with vitamins about a week beforehand, but what with the lack of adequate medication to sustain basic ( Read more... )

No, it didn't; things were a little crazy and disorganized. I'll bring it up at the next one if you want, though. That'd be pretty cool.

wow, i can't imagine what it must feel like having an entire bag of blood taken out of you. i actually get weak for a day after having just a test tube taken out.

and i can't give blood, in this country anyway, thanks to having lived in the united kingdom from 1989-1992 (apparently, i might become a mad cow). so it all works out.

good for you for donating your rare blood.

*cracks up*

The funny thing is that, worldwide, my blood type is very common, just not among people of European descent, so America is apparently perpetually short.

It doesn't take much more out of me to give a bag, usually, than to give a couple of tubes. The worst part is the needle, which always makes me a little freaked-out if I let myself think about it. Giving tubes usually hurts worse, actually, now that I think about it. I think because the doctor's staff isn't as competent as the LPNs and RNs at the Red Cross.

When I gave blood a few weeks ago it was a mess. It started out fine. Apparently I bleed very quickly. But as I was getting ready to go I passed out. Then I got the worst cold with a fever and felt like crap for over a week. I'm not sure I'm going to be giving blood anytime soon.

nice icon.

Augh. That sucks! It does weaken your immune system for a little while, which is why I usually vitaminify myself big-time (which reminds me to go take mine right now) before and after. I was REAL close to fainting last night. Sucky!

Not every appointment can go perfectly, though, I guess.

What, get a paid account simply to have more icons, surely you jest!

Oh, and I had an asthma attack, I forgot that part. My mom got really angry and said I was forbidden from giving blood again. Which made me laugh at her.

It was better than the girl next to me who was afraid of needles and whose veins stopped pumping blood. It took her like 3 times longer than it took me, and she was freaking out about the needle the entire time. I really don't understand why people like that give blood.
