Kitty Halp Needed in Massachusetts!

Apr 28, 2009 13:25

This is a complicated and unpleasant situation. Let me sum up.

A while back, nonnycat and co. had to move, and could not take their kitty, Misty, along. They found Misty a stable home with friends, but alas, that stable home is stable no longer. A bad relationship explosion and job loss means that Misty is now staying with someone else, a mutual friend.

In Nonny's words:

Misty is staying with our mutual friend Robyn, but she lives in Section 8 housing and pets aren't allowed. She can keep the cat a week at max, and then she needs to take her to a shelter. We are requesting that if it comes to that necessity, she find a no-kill shelter, but I would much rather Misty in a loving home with people that want her than waiting for perhaps months in a shelter.

>Pictures of Misty are here.

Misty is 4 years old, female, and spayed. She has her rabies shots, but not feline leukemia or distemper. Robyn has the certification for her spay and vaccination that will go with her upon request. She's friendly, although shy around new people; she is ambivalent toward kids, she won't attack them but she tends to avoid them. She is best in a minimum-cat household . . . we had issues with her and ours, but we have several other dominant cats, and she is Very Dominant. Mark had a cat that is very docile and laid-back, and Misty had no trouble with her, so if the other cat is more submissive, there might not be issues.

Misty is currently staying in the Medway, MA, area, with Robyn. Misty needs to find a new home within a week, or their housing is at risk.

I know I have rather a lot of Massachusetts readers, so, please, anyone in the Medway or who has friends there, put the kitty-feelers out. Misty is an absolutely beautiful cat, she is young, she's spayed, and she will make someone a delightful companion.

If you know someone who can help, comment here with an email address, and I will gladly forward the relevant contact information to you. You can also contact me or Nonny directly through email: naamah at gmail com and mistressnonny at gmail com.
