No fuckin' way would I let anyone shove a hook through my skin and hoist me up! The whole getting spiritual thing about suspension is lost on me. To me a hook is something you use to catch fish, not impale yourself with.

To each his own. I don't think there's much point in trying to explain this to someone who doesn't percieve it the way the people doing it do. If the person doesn't understand it's better to just leave it at that rather than waste energy attempting to explain the spiritual aspects of it. I certainly don't hold it against anyone who doesn't understand either, that would be just as bad as someone holding it against the people involving themselves in these types of rituals.
