Vin groaned softly as he awoke from his unconscious state. He could feel a heavy weight on his chest, but gasped in pain when he tried to lift his head and figure out its source.

“Easy Vin, best you lie still. Got yer’self a heck of a graze there. Here drink some of this tea and it’ll help with the pain.”

This is an interesting concept. I love it and I'm looking forward to reading more :) I'm really curious about how and why Ezra was transformed into a wolf, how they'll get him changed back and how old he really is :) And of course why Vin and Chris understand him.
I hope there'll be more to read soon :)

I had to go back and reread the first parts after Chris's comment here, and sure enough, you've got the clue in there from the get-go. Good job! And oh, boy, Chris can hear him. That's gonna make Ezra's life interesting. I enjoy your stories and your take on the M7 universe! And what in the world did Maude do to get them into this fix, and how old IS Ezra?
