The idea of a teenage Sirius in a communal shower with other boys popped into my head the other day. Before I knew it, the poor boy was caught staring. Originally, I was going to set this in the showers of the Quidditch locker room, but then I remembered that there is no such place in canon. (It's a pretty popular place in fanon though.) So,

Oh, that was sad. Poor Sirius. I can definitely see this happening -- makes me realize anew how glad I am to be out of high school.

Nope. It's pretty clear that Harry always dresses/undresses for Quidditch practices/games in his dorm. Even that one time (in CoS?) when he was dripping mud and would gladly have cleaned up before going back to castle, he had to return to Gryffindor Tower in order to clean up.

The funny thing is that showers are not canon either, are they? *g* We never read about any student actually bathing or at least brushing his teeth. At least as far as I remember...

This is very sad - poor Sirius. But it's a lovely ficlet.

It's kind of like the lack of bathrooms on the Enterprise. ;)

And there are bathrooms at Hogwarts: the girls' bathroom in which Hermione gets cornered by the troll, which may or may not be the same girls's bathroom haunted by Moaning Myrtle, and the prefects' bathroom where Myrtle spys on attractive boys.

Harry actually got into the water once! May have been his only bath in four years at Hogwarts. :-}

I particularly liked the ending, because you managed to make it both credible and original, a combination which can be hard to come by in fics with such a frequently touched-upon theme. If I managed to make any sense at all.

As always, I really like this. It's so real. Much more realistic than fics where the Marauders and most of Hogwarts are gleefully accepting of gay couples.

Thank you. Yes, I find the "No one cares if you are gay; feel free to snog in the Great Hall" fics annoyingly unrealistic for the era.
