"I can't love you for the both of us, " I imagine it the other way around, that this is something Sawyer will have to eventually say to Kate - either way, it's sad but more than likely the way it will go.

She bandages his knuckles and sleeps next to him. She doesn't leave until the morning. That's as heartbreaking an image as I've ever read!

i guess that sentence applies for both of them. they love each other but have trouble loving themselves and that's the problem in their relationship.
