I'm feeling the "parent" role of being a teacher right now. I just found out that one of my students, from THAT senior writing class I raved about, died on the 4th. I don't know all the details, but emailed a friend/student to find out

Turns out it was DD. I can't tell from the article if it was him being drunk or the other driver, though.

I don't know what I would do if I got news that one of our babies was lost. I can't imagine the emotional pressure right now. You will be in my thoughts as will the family of the student.
