I'm feeling the "parent" role of being a teacher right now. I just found out that one of my students, from THAT senior writing class I raved about, died on the 4th. I don't know all the details, but emailed a friend/student to find out.
Teachers shouldn't outlive their students. I don't mean that in a morbid, I'm going to kill myself kind of way -- just...wow.
