My first one in several weeks. So naturally I woke up with the worst sore throat I can ever remember having, a headache that just wouldn't quit, and chills/shakes/fever to boot

feel better!!! (i know that totally won't help but i know how you feel...strep blows)

eat ice cream and lots of it and you can always go to a walk in...i think they charge less.

anyway...get better soon! and start taking lots of vitamins and drink green tea (but not with any type of citrus in it)...i drink tons of the stuff (being that its the only thing other than water i'll drink at work) and i haven't gotten sick...and i'm a sick kid all the time

FYI, a walk-in clinic without insurance should be $60-$80 dollars. Let them know you don't have insurance, and ask the cost of any test they try to run. Blood tests and chest x-rays get kinda pricy, but a normal strep test should cost no more than $15-$20.

I got my mom to agree to drive me to a walk-in nearby tomorrow. It's either that or the ER, and for what I know I need (rapid-strep and antibiotics), it's just easier to hit a clinic.

Couldn't have been in another 2 months, nooooo....
