My first one in several weeks. So naturally I woke up with the worst sore throat I can ever remember having, a headache that just wouldn't quit, and chills/shakes/fever to boot.

My guess: strep.
My solution: hm. I have no insurance. Doc's not open till Monday. I'm supposed to be overnight tomorrow.

Do I go in, try and call people to take the overnight, and let the sup's know that I'm dying? Do I call out in the a.m. and just let sup's handle it? On Monday, do I go to the doctor and risk a ridiculous co-pay knowing that if it's not strep I'm out whatever amount of money they charge for uninsured people? Will they even see me without insurance? I've never done this. I also have to get to work tomorrow or Monday to turn in a time-study that absolutely without question must be there even if I were on my death bed (which I feel as though I may be) so do I visit the nursing staff and see if the practitioners will prescribe me antibiotics? They can do that... but would they? Can they?

And will my body ever stop shaking? UGH.

Edit: So, to follow up.
Walk-in: $95
Strep-test: $30
Penicillin: $17.29

I want insurance.
