If you want just-the-seeds from a pomegranate, cut it in half along the equator (not top to bottom), and then nick the skin in about 5 places along the equator, vertically, as if very lazily trying to cut it into petals. Then hold a half, over a bowl, cut side down in an upward-facing palm. Bang the hell out of the skin with the back of a soup spoon, all over. It will be easy to pick out the white membranes from the seeds, and the few remaining seeds from the half. Repeat with the other half at will.
Huh! I've never heard of anything like this to get the seeds out. I'll have to try it sometime. I don't actually hae a problem with getting the seeds, I just meant that you can't eat it as easily as you could an apple or orange. But I can get every bit of meat out of snow crab legs - I'm not afraid to work for it!
