I live in south metro Atlanta and am looking for a good Asian food market. Do you have any suggestions?

These are the ones I go to:

Tomato
7124 Peachtree Industrial Blvd
Norcross, GA 30071
770-263-7838

A small grocery store with many of the basics of Japanese cooking. Lots of snacks, lots of frozen foods, not so much produce.

99 Ranch Market
5150 Buford Hwy.
Doravilla, GA 30340
(770) 458-8899

A big pan-Asian store. Has its own bakery and large produce and cookware sections. You can find bento boxes among the housewares.

Buford Highway Farmer's Market
5600 Buford Hwy NE
Atlanta, GA 30340
(770) 455-0625

An intimidatingly massive, half-Asian and half-Hispanic market. Literally half-and-half; the store is split down the middle with regard to food types. This is the biggest market I've seen, with the most variety of Asian food. Besides the food, it also has cookware and bento boxes.

You can find some more Asian markets listed in the Bentolunch Geographic Shopping Guide

I didn't know you're in atlanta! anonymous August 10 2007, 02:45:43 UTC
Hello from Japan!

I have found your Bento Photo recently and I thought you are living in Japan, because you really eat tipical Japanese food like okonomiyaki, takoyaki, and sushi!
Also I have never met an American who make lunch as the Japanese do everyday!
You are great!

*chuckle* Oh, I'm American, all right! A lot of people have assumes I'm Japanese - but I'm blonde, blue-eyed, and so pale I'm practically light blue!

My food is actually close to typical Japanese food? Cool. I cook stuff like okonomiyaki, sushi, takoyaki, yakiudon, etc. regularly because after trying them out I found I really like them. Plus, they're easy to make, and decent nutritionally.

Thanks for your comments!
