Just wanted to leave a brief note that I'm enjoying this and having to resist the urge to take Horatio from you and cuddle him until he feels better. ;)
There is a queue for comforting Horatio, I'm afraid. Your position is third behind the two ladies who have commented below and registered their interest previously. :)
Oh, my poor Horatio. You do love to torture him, don't you? Seems running into Bean is both a blessing and a curse for him--what luck to find someone sympathetic, and yet so hard to believe the two could look so similar and not be the same person. Now I want to know...How did Horatio get to Cambridge? Why go there? And in whose handwriting is the note? I have my thoughts but I shall keep them to myself for the nonce. *grin*
I am afraid that I can't help myself. He is just so easy to contort, if you get me.
Oh please share your thoughts; I can answer some of those questions but not all and would love to know what you think. Not least so that I can steal your ideas.
Damn, just rip my heart out why don't you? *grin* This was heartbreaking because it revealed so much about the sort of influence Archie had on Horatio. It's also a nice nod of the head to book!Horatio who seems intent on metaphorical self-flagellation. *shakes head* Maybe this is Horatio's purgatory. To be lost in such a strange place without a career or Archie. *considers*
I must be in a heart ripping out mood. At least my 'hat fic' will be happy.
I had book!Horry very much in mind when I wrote this. It may well be Horatio's purgatory, to be left without the things which matter to him. Who knows? (Yes, that means I'm writing by the seat of my pants again!)

Thought so. *grin* That's all right. Writing from the seat of the pants is good on occasion.
