im reading my anthro textbook right now. i thought the lactose intolerance level for asians was @ 80%...very high already. but it's supposedly 95-100% for "asian americans." crazyyy. why is it that i dont know any lactose intolerant asians? maybe we're just unaware...

huh? wouldn't you know if you were lactose intolerant? i thought bad stuff happens when you drink milk if you are...

I'm slightly lactose intolerant, but I eat dairy stuff (especially yogurt) anyway. My sister used to be lactose intolerant, but she isn't anymore. I know my mom is. I don't know if my dad is.

Anyway, from what I remember from the research paper I did for AP Lang a few years ago, whites have such low occurences of lactose intolerance because in terms of evolution, Europeans had to evolve in a much colder environment, and so one of their only forms of nutrition (since you can't really grow crops in a super cold environment) was to drink the milk of other species. Thus, they evolved with an enzyme capable of digesting lactose... Not sure how true this is.
