This weekend I watched "Up in the Air" and was surprise to see that it was rated R. Granted there were a few times in which the f-word was used. But nudity? Not really. Off the wall swearing (like in Shawn of the Dead)? Also not really. So I tried to google movies that should be rated R, but there really isn't a list around. So here are some

I think the MPAA is afraid of foreign films in general. Chinese and Japanese films tend to get this rating, although usually the ones that make it into the US are kind of edgy, so they might deserve it. ^^;;

I can't believe Japan gave The Godfather and Shawshank Redemption a G rating! Did they... did they watch them before they rated them? XD

Remember we had to take an IQS class? Well I took the newspaper reading one, and I did my paper/presentation on movie ratings and the MPAA. I was really shocked when I did my research and how they categorize the movies with the ratings. Some of it is bullshit, I think.
