Okay, so there are rats. Let's just get that out of the way now. But they're cute! And so far, not in the house. Here are a few photos of rats eating leaves, and then a rat being eaten, all taken on the same day from different windows of my house ( Read more... )

I love the last picture of Josie. She looks very put out.

I know, right? It's just her face. She is a very expressive little cat.

Oh wow, you're an amazing photographer! I can't remember if we've known each other long enough but I had rats for a while and took pictures of them eating bird seed on my patio. None as nice as yours though. The fifth picture down is stunning; it makes me think of an art nouveau painting.

Calico cats are so neat. Josie's markings make her face look really strange! Not bad; she's a pretty cat. Just strange. Tilda is lovely and has that pointy-face look that most of my cats have (it's my favorite cat-face shape). Is she part Siamese? Two of mine are and they're NOISY.

The squirrel in the crow pics is great, he's like "OH SHIT, BAD DAY TO BE A RODENT."

Hey, thanks! I enjoy it. I didn't make the nouveau connection, but now that you say it, it does remind me of that. I don't think I saw those pictures of yours, actually.

They are both very interesting looking, I think. And Tilda does have a pointy little face (which was part of what went into the name, I think). I don't know anything about them, though. They are both from a cat-hoarding house that was finally called in to the cops--they are "impounded" property. We were told they were littermates, but the vet doesn't think they're the same age. So I really don't know what their background it. Strangely, it's Josie who's the loud one--she rarely shuts up and it's kind of annoying, actually. Tilda talks too but it's more gentle tones of inquiry.

And I know. I got a few of that squirrel running up the roof towards them and then moving away.

Oh, is it Tilda after Tilda Swinton? That's awesome.

If you're interested, I have journal entries with pics. Here's when a rat first showed up: http://back-in-black.livejournal.com/896416.html#cutid1

Then he brought friends to eat the bird seed I put out for hiim: http://pics.livejournal.com/back_in_black/pic/000ekrqw/

Then an entire family of raccoons turned up to steal the bird seed:

Small rats, big mice, whatever, they are really cute.

Yeah, I can't decide. Too big for mice, too small for rats, but I think they're just not freakish city rats or something.

Oh, awesome. Thank you! Those weren't in any of my books, as kids. Just Norway/Brown and Black.

Yeah, I can't tell if it wants in, or is like, oh shit, that could be me.

Um, sometimes they do? When they aren't a blur, they are very still.

This is completely off topic, but I saw this pic, giggled hysterically, and thought of you. And then saved it without recording in the slightest way where I found it, just so I could share it with you.

Aaand then my net drive went down, rendering it... complicated. XD

BUT LO!! Mike has even just now replaced it with a new system (with the details of which I won't bore you), and here you (finally) go: The pic that made me lol and which is the first one loaded up to the new system. XD

That makes me lol too.

HEEEEEEEEEE. IT'S FUNNY CUZ IT'S TRUE.

Er, or something, in my head?

This morning, the pic wasn't showing up at all, and I was so confused. I'm glad it chose to appear!

It got deleted off the server at some point (which we were apparently still setting up); but I re-uploaded it again. Let me know if it's still not there and I'll just throw it up onto Photobucket.

XD I'm so glad you liked it! XD I was afraid you'd already seen it.
