Quote of the day: Phantom as Star Trek

Feb 09, 2009 19:51

Paris Opera was a living thing, full of a mad collection of people performing and doing their thing. It was somewhat like the starship Enterprise-completely self-sufficient.
-John Mathieson, cinematographer for the 2004 Phantom of the OperaSo my challenge to you: who's who? Any crew, but I prefer TOS and TNG because I know them better. And DS9 (but ( Read more... )

LOL!! This is awesome. I wish that I were more familiar with POTO!

Maybe ... Kes (from Voyager) as Christine? or Maybe if we want to think really outside of the box, Data.

In that scenario, Raoul would be Tasha Yar and the Phantom/Erik would be Lor.

I don't know anything about any of the other characters, but I suppose that Dr. Soong would be Madame Giry. I have no clue who would be the Persian because I don't remember that character from the movie. (Sorry!! I know that my slip is showing!)

lol!!! I really wish that I did know more about the movie.

The Persian's really only in the book. Though the movie with Lon Chaney comes closest.

Heeeee. Data!Christine. I said she should be 7 of 9. Hot blonde, can't think for herself...yeah, that's it!

Aha!!

I totally second guessed myself on Kes because I thought that maybe she had a little too much spunk. Seven of Nine would work. With Janeway as her Raoul or maybe the Doctor. AND the Borg Queen as the Phantom? Maybe I'm trying to make everyone too related ...

Ooh, a Data/Lor tragedy? Nice. Poor Tasha.

As tkp said, the Persian's in the book. And he's in the Chaney film (see creepy icon) under a different name. They decided at the last minute to cut the backstory, so they renamed his Ledoux but he kept his funny hat.

Uhura is Christine, what with the singing. I guess that makes the Squire of Gothos Erik...

Haha. Since she was singing to Spock that one time, does that make him Raoul? Or Kirk, even if the Aliens Made Them Kiss?

Yes, I agree. Kirk would make a dashing Christine...

This was what I was going to write, but then I realized he should just be everyone and I couldn't decide. His awesomeness knows no bounds.

Hee! Q! And Wesley is perfect. Riker!Meg is just scary, but at least he's got that trombone thing down. Data can do that shifty-eye thing.

Now for the ALW/TOS version

Spock - Andre
McCoy - Firmin
Kirk - Carlotta

You are so mean to them. ILU. WHO IS PIANGI? YEOMAN RAND?

7 of 9 (she's Borg) - Christine

I know what she looks like and stuff, and a lot of the characters' names, just not much about personality. For some Christines, Borg is about right.

Data!Christine would be awesome, because he's smart but naive in enough ways you could make it work.

And I will near no slurs on Shatner's acting talent. I think he's quite good in the early tv series. I am completely serious. Then again, I have come to the conclusion that one person's charm is another person's ham, so it's all a matter of taste. Still, I'd love to see him as Carlotta!

Oh, I am glad, then. I wasn't actually upset or anything, and I think he'd make a great Carlotta. I just don't think he's *bad*--just special.

And LOL to the song. I hadn't heard it before. Awesome.

And yes, it's at my desk. I don't like to have to explain to people I'm a geek.
