May Your Smoke be Blue
Set in the same universe as Sci-Fi's Tin Man, May Your Smoke be Blue is set in Central City, many years in the future. The main story is focused on Central City High student Allyson Talbot (Alexz Johnson), and all the drama high school entails. Trying to balance swim team and rehearsals for the big production of The Rivals might just be too much for her.
Back at home, her mother, Lizzie (Faith Hill) is trying to be supportive of her daughter while juggling one of the city's most popular shops, Blue Smoke Bakery; a mysterious relationship with the Queen's top adviser (William Conrad), who comes in almost daily, for pastries and conversation; and playing matchmaker for her new neighbor, Ellery (Melinda Mullins), and the assistant drama teacher, Heffner Singen (Hugh O'Gorman).
The bakery is the linchpin for most of the action in the story, from Ally and Lizzie's late-night bonding over hot chocolate and fresh cookies; to Heff and Ellery's budding romance; to the plotting of a revolt from a large chunk of the student body, when Ally's show of school pride, just prior to the biggest swim meet of the season, gets her kicked out of the show.
But, no matter how stressful things get, the Talbot girls won't back down.
