crying!!! this is so beautiful and i really, really adore your metaphor, it's a perfect fit and you execute it elegantly and with commitment. this paragraph got me in particular: War comes to them like the smell of blood on the sea. The sharks begin to circle. Everyone -everyone is suddenly not what you think. Even the ones you know the best. the voice and the writing are flawless but i also think it gives that perfect sense of turning point, of foreboding. i felt my heart sink. really lovely, sad piece!

This was so, so beautifully written, and so sad without being too much (I mention because I don't read angst if I can help it--yes, I know, what am I doing in this fandom?) but I'm glad I clicked and glad I read. It was like poetry.

I love how distant he is. Throughout the whole thing, it's really what I've always pictured for Remus. Not crazystudiebrain, not awkwardnoodleface, but distant. Cut off from the James'n'Sirius lifestyle.

The part about Sirius-his Sirius- really got to me. It was reallyreally well done :-))

That was very beautiful and so sad all at once. The analogy with the train was rather brilliant. Never thought of a train that deeply.

OMG! That was brilliantly written, but I think it killed me just a bit inside. I loved the train and tunnel imagery and it worked exceedingly well the narrative tone. This was truly beautiful, although also terrible it it's own way. Terribly beautiful? Beautifully terrible? Either way it works!
