Details: Senator Daniel Richards was a staunch opponent of genetic weapons research. He used his political influence to shut down funding for Project Contact and several other human genetics programs, but the research continued subversively without his knowing. Years later, he was on the verge of announcing legislation which would decrease funding for future projects as well as an investigation into present projects. Mutant X, with the aid of ex-journalist Eddie Boyle, was able to halt an assassination attempt by one of the Project Contact assassins.
