Holy... I'd never have thought that I would love a fic centered around Alfred and his states so much, but I this one is so well-done!
The contrast between scenes, how different Alfred was between those scenes in terms of being curt or lovable, yet still familiarly cocky, and how the sweetness of Leilani's character left an impact at the end--it was wonderfully done. Very awesome. ♥
I personally don't forget Hawai'i because I'd rather be living there. >_>;; Though it's more expensive than America's glasses...
Bu~t in other terms, writing Al and his States are so much fun. I know they're not canon, but each state has a unique personality--you almost can't write about them. :D
Texas is supposed to be one of the cheaper places to live. Trust me, surf, sand and sun can only go so far when you're paying $2,000 a month for rent....in the city. >.>
I've actually been wanting to write about America and Texas myself, mainly because it's got a small amount of history of not being a state (instead it was a country), which I always thought of it as cool.
I revise my statement...it's "holy f***ing shit more expensive." In my place it's only $950 to $1000 dollars a month. It used to be a little less expensive awhile before the recession.
Argh, the recession. Just a two year FML for anyone living within these fine borders.
I've actually been wanting to write about America and Texas myself I'm interested to see how you'd characterize Texas. My headcannon is a loud mouthed sunuvabitch, but I use that term rather endearingly, so don't take it as an insult. XD
