Good point about the ages. I had it as 1966ish (early Crimebusters era, pre-Vietnam) with the original Comedian POV story, but that was a while ago. I should put that in the summaries so people aren't confused by the use of pronouns and relative hygeine and all. I'm also fudging the comic/movie elements as well, as I love both the funkiness of Dan's costume in the GN and the look and practicality of the movie version...so I've settled on having him start out in the GN version and gradually upgrade to the movie one. Which probably confuses everyone without my personal canon in their head :) Thanks for bringing these up!

I got a bit meta here, I have to admit - every smexing scenerio I ran through in my head got a Dan comment as above. If Dan was less intellegent and snarky, he'd already be getting some... Will pick up the story in a week or so - for the moment I took a break and wrote a bit of silly PWP drunken porn as a break - should be up tonight or tomorrow.

I cannot believe that I did not know this story existed until last night. I read through it quickly last night, but today I went back and kind of savored it, and it was delicious. (Does that sound creepy? Haha, I don't intend to sound like a stalker.)
Is there any character you can't write well in this fandom? Seriously. Your Comedian, Rorschach, and Daniel are all spot-on, like always, and I love the spunky Laurie in this chapter, too. It's rare to stumble upon a "this really sounds like the Comedian" fic, but that's what you have here.
You're my favorite Watchmen fic writer, and believe me, I spend an embarrassing amount of time reading Watchmen fan fic. Every time I see that you've written something new, I know that it's going to be excellent. I can't wait to read more! :D
Heh - see, I totally feel stalking is true love when it's Rorschach and Daniel. It's just extended foreplay. Yet the exact same thing sends me into an incoherent rage when I stumble on Twilight. I am such a fandom hypocrite :)
I've decided Daniel fills his downtime compulsively tinkering, and supplements his trust fund getting patents on anything he doesn't find a crime-fighting use for. Because practical engineers are just hot.
I just got into Nite Owl/Rorschach and I'm currently indulging myself with all the awesome stuff out there.
This is one of the absolute best I've read. I think you have the characters perfectly! The writing is both HOT and AMUSING. While I like Nite Owl/Rorschach for the angst potential, it's nice to read something without all that the gloom and doom and emotionally disfunctional characters.
Young!Rorschach is adorable and I'm really pulling for him and Daniel.
I'm going to read your other stuff now. Please continue this :)
