I put a lock on my food cabinet today. She stole from me AGAIN. I know she's only 13, and there are way worse roommate issues, but I need my junk food fix. And she ate it

I'm a convert, Baptised Catholic, raised Episcopalian, converted to Roman Catholic when Tom (now 15) was a toddler. I have the great big Catechism of the Catholic church, but that book is over 1000 pages, with fairly small print.
Someone suggested I read that, but now that I know it's so long, and in small print, I'm going to have to find an easier way to gather the info. I simply don't have time to read all that!!! I'm already behind in one of my classes.
I'm a practicing Catholic, but I'm afraid there is some stuff I disagree with, but I still think I have place in the church. I had a fantastic priest who told me once that there was a huge difference between Tradition and tradition, and that if my differences with the church were in the small-t tradition, we'd be all right :)
I might be able to help. I didn't realize you are Catholic. I was raised baptist and converted in 1998. We go to St. John Neumann in Reston and have also gone to Our Lady of Good Counsel in Vienna. Both parishes are staffed by Oblates of St. Francis de Sales, and I've found Oblate priests to be more moderate than the traditional Catholic priest. If that makes sense. Anyway, you might want to contact someone at one of those parishes.
Thank you for the information. I checked into St John Neumann (because it's closer to me) and it looks like they might be a better fit, better than the church that's closest to me. My high school was a St Francis de Sales school ("St. Frances de Sales, pray for us..."). I sent them an email to see what they say. Something about the Re-Membering program.
Did I mention I'm dating the stepson of the organist there? LOL
Talk to Cat Draco on my list. She's a practicing Catholic who does a lot of work on the thinking and thought issues. She'd welcome the opportunity to share. Message her.
I, of course, am the opposite. :-) Raised Catholic and no longer one.
