Finally! Someone does a Tamaki character study where he isn't mr happy sunshine out my butt.

I agree whole-heartedly with your assesments, he is a lonely boy behind that cheery exterior.

The style was different but I liked it a lot.

Couple things.

Another undeniable fact[:] All the girls loved Tamaki, and he had a group of 6 loyal, crazy, and pretty good-looking friends.

Another undeniable fact[:] For all the glamour and glitz he exuded at school, for all of his popularity, he only has one person to call when he lies in bed sleepless, tortured by nightmares.

Also in the second half you put some narrative in paranthesis and it made the two styles mismatched. (if this was intentional ignore the comment).

Over all style wise it was really great. :D

Don't worry, there was nothing 'weird' about using the second person in your drabble. It was very conversational and engaging, in fact, and made me focus on what I really thought about Tamaki Suoh. This drabble really points out that there is more to the silly, flamboyant young man we all know and that something is probably not as bright and cheerful as we initially assume; which is juxtaposed quite effectively after describing the standard impression Tamaki provides to other people in general. I think in the manga he is observed by Haruhi as being over the grudge his grandmother holds against him and that he overcomes his grandmother's snubs by converting the situation into something positive to avoid fighting with her. However, that doesn't stop you from wondering if Tamaki is in fact very sad inside, no matter how he tries to convert that negativity into something different ( ... )
