I don't know how I knew it but from the beginning I figured it was Tamaki who died. I thought for the first couple lines that it was Haruhi until you mentioned she waited to attend his funeral.

This was so sad but a wonderful use of prompt! It really is fitting that in death they found the will to enjoy life to the fullest and oddly enough the pair of them would be an interesting couple. Though I think deep down Eclaire has a want for the more romantic side of life even though she keeps herself cool and collected.

Your dialouge came across very naturally, I don't know why but this in particular caught my eye:
“Ootori-san, I didn’t mean anything, um, disrespectful by deliberately not coming to the funeral.”

It was the 'um' that really made it real for me. Because people are not alway perfectly composed and occassionally we fall back on those venaculars to express ourselves.

So like Eclair to call Tamaki an idiot, even though he's dead. I enjoyed the melancholy tone here and the hint of happiness that blossomed at the end.

Sorry, it wasn't a mystery to me who had died. Everyone seems to be fond of placing Tamaki under a gravestone ( ... )

Thank you so much!

Y'know, that's actually a really good idea for a title. I had absolutely no ideas for a good title, and I knew this one felt a bit... Off. ^^' The epitaph is actually by Rossiter W. Raymond - I have a collection of obscure quotes by random people, and when I saw the prompt, I knew I had to use this one.

And the use of 'goddamnit' - I really wanted it to come across that Eclair was angry. She's angry at herself for crying, at herself for not treating Tamaki for kindly, at everyone for thinking she hated him, etc. She's furious at herself, so I thought swearing might be more fitting.

Again, thanks so much for reviewing! I always love to hear what you think! ^_^

*secret smile* Someone has two accounts... I really don't mind which one you use to reply, just don't try to confuse me as it isn't working ;)

I don't know who Rossiter W. Raymond is, but it is a good quote. Just make sure to credit the poor man when you make the edits. If you ever write such a quote yourself, I'm sure you'd want to be credited too.

And I see what you mean now about using the word "goddamnit".

*lounges* No problem, looking forward to your review, though I wouldn't ask you to go on like I do!

I've been found out! :D I'm an intense roleplayer, and I have the worst habit of forgetting to change to the right account before posting. I'm trying to make myself stop failposting! But... There's a definite possibility that it will happen more... **gloom**

I just realized I never left a review....hello crazy life....

Well, I loved this. Truly elegant, as grim said.

I swear, your pieces get better each time I read them.

Please, continue the good work!
