I'm so damn happy to be alive right now

Nothing make one appreciate life like a near-death experience. I've never had one before, but I find near-near-death experiences to be pretty effective ( Read more... )

Wow, Ana. I am so glad to hear that you are alive. I've missed you as of late, and since I can't track back on Twitter for a month's worth of tweets (just ain't gonna happen) I thought I'd come on LiveJournal to see what you've been up to. And it sounds like life's been quite eventful for you. Jade visiting, multiple concert-goings. Everything sounds well worth living for. :)

Goodness. I don't know what I'm trying to say. It's just good to be back and to hear that you are still existing. And just think of all the good things to come! Here Comes Science, new TMBG adult album, concert in....October? Life is good. :)

I've missed you, too! What have you been up to? Jade and I noticed you and Kori weren't on much, we didn't know you were together. How was that? Awesome, I imagine? But yeah, life's been eventful here, and pretty good.

I'm touched people are happy about my existence. :D And YES Here Comes Science! And concert(s) on October 10th. Are you going to both? I think we are. There's also one in Detroit on the 8th, hopefully I can make it to that one.

Also, I really haven't been twittering a lot recently, so you didn't really miss anything from me. I follow so many people that sometimes catching up on a day can be a hassle! Ugh.

I've been traveling for the past month. It's been busy like all get-out, but very fun at the same time. First my family traveled out east and visited New York City and Philadelphia. Then we came back for a wedding on the fourth of July. The following Sunday, Anna and I took off for California, and then came back for a wedding on the 18th of July. Crazy ( ... )

Ooh! We missed you. But it sounds like a good time. I really like to travel, I wish I could more often. And to go back to NYC would be quite a treat. I do hope you found everyone to be your friend in New York City. :D And it seems everyone gets married in July, haha.

Oh yes, we totally ruled Michigan. Jade even drove us successfully to Grand Rapids, to hang out at Yesterdog with another TMBG internet friend, and no one got killed (and only one injury; I slammed aforementioned internet friend's hand in the car door. >.<). I also taught her how to properly celebrate independence day. And we SO saw BNL! And met the band members, it was epic.

Yes, it's a kid's show. At least we will be at one concert together! Although I'm having second thoughts about the kid's show as well. My motto has always been "as much TMBG as possible," but I don't want to feel like I'm creeping around. Especially with the gift of another show on the same day.

Oh wow. Isn't it funny (well, not funny, persay. Ironic?) how things work out like that? Personally, I'm glad that things worked out the way they did, and that you are not injured or otherwise dead.

How was Conor Oberst? I saw an ad for him in the back of an issue of The Believer and he looked intriguing.

LIFE IS GRAND.
That is all.

Oh, I know how you meant 'funny.' It is indeed! I've never been more grateful that Aj's parents are slow drivers, haha. And like I told Amy, I feel quite touched that people are so glad I'm not injured or dead.

AWESOME. I went into the concert only knowing one song by him, as well as one by Bright Eyes, which was his old band, and I was totally impressed. He's really good! I've heard him described as Dylan-like, only with a good voice, and I kind of agree with that. He has good lyrics.

Agreed! Life IS grand.

That's what friends are for! They care about you when you almost die!
When I was in a really bad car accident a few years ago the only person who went out of their way was my math teacher. But that's uninteresting and irrelevant.

Oh hey, I dig Bright Eyes! Amy sent me bunch of songs and they were awesome.
So basically I think I'd like his solo stuff?
Man, Bob Dylan. I can appreciate the man, but his voice kind of gets on my nerves. Jakob Dylan is good, though.

"That's what friends are for! They care about you when you almost die! "
Haha, that's going to be a Facebook quote. XD

Actually, that kind of is interesting. And weird. I'd certainly go out of my way if you were in a car accident.

You'd probably like him. I think as a whole is solo stuff and work with The Mystic Valley band is a lot happier, but the lyrical quality is certainly there.
I know... his lyrics are amazing, but sometimes he's hard to listen to. He was better when he was younger, his voice was. I really like Jakob Dylan, too. Did you happen to see that episode of Elvis Costello's show that Jakob Dylan and She & Him were on?

Haha, I think you texted me afterwards, and mentioned you might've been drunk, and I was all "lol, okthen."

really? around that time? i don't remember doing that; might be the only time i don't remember doing something whilst drunk.

(p.s. i'm actually a little tipsy now, in fact. this is not a frequent thing though so don't worry!)
