Nothing make one appreciate life like a near-death experience. I've never had one before, but I find near-near-death experiences to be pretty effective

I've been traveling for the past month. It's been busy like all get-out, but very fun at the same time. First my family traveled out east and visited New York City and Philadelphia. Then we came back for a wedding on the fourth of July. The following Sunday, Anna and I took off for California, and then came back for a wedding on the 18th of July. Crazy.
How was Jade's visit? I suspect it was awesome, and that you two ruled Michigan for as long as she stayed. And I heard you went to a Barenaked Ladies concert, which just knocks me out. I'm so excited for the two of you!
I think Anna and I are just going to the Flood show in Chicago. The other is a children's show, right? As much as I'd love to hear Danny sing I Am A Paleontologist, I don't think we'll be going (if it is indeed a children's show). Darn...we won't be going to Detroit either. But we were planning on going to St. Louis.
Keeping up with Twitter can be a part-time job. I might be sad about that fact if the people I follow weren't so awesome...but they are. And even so I don't keep up to the speed with they all "tweet" (or whatever the hip jargon is these days.)
Ooh! We missed you. But it sounds like a good time. I really like to travel, I wish I could more often. And to go back to NYC would be quite a treat. I do hope you found everyone to be your friend in New York City. :D And it seems everyone gets married in July, haha.
Oh yes, we totally ruled Michigan. Jade even drove us successfully to Grand Rapids, to hang out at Yesterdog with another TMBG internet friend, and no one got killed (and only one injury; I slammed aforementioned internet friend's hand in the car door. >.<). I also taught her how to properly celebrate independence day. And we SO saw BNL! And met the band members, it was epic.
Yes, it's a kid's show. At least we will be at one concert together! Although I'm having second thoughts about the kid's show as well. My motto has always been "as much TMBG as possible," but I don't want to feel like I'm creeping around. Especially with the gift of another show on the same day.
New York City sure is a lovely place to visit. But the touristyness (I take the prerogative to invent words) of the heart of the city gets me down. If I lived there, I'd say Greenwich Village is where it's at. Lovely area.
That is SO EXCELLENT. Not the part about hands slamming in doors, of course, but everything else! Wow. I just can't fathom how epic it must've been. How long did Jade stay with you?
The adult show is going to be amazing. I'm sure kid's shows are good too, but I hung around Jiggle Jam whilst waiting for Iggy (who, incidentally, tends to make drunken promises and then forget them promptly the next day---but we love him however he is) and I felt like such a creepy person. Of course, a regular kids' show might be different than a kids' festival.
...I'll shut up. At any rate, October, here we come!
