Gold Motel is a new band with Greta Salpeter from The Hush Sound (The Hush Sound is a band currently on Hiatus). They had their first ever concert in Chicago this Sunday night and I went. I thought I'd write a little review and share photos, videos and some mp3s.

I love listening to live albums, especially for my favorite bands. I have a ton of rarities and shows recorded from people in the audience. Elliott Smith is one of my favorite artists. He's a singer songwriter. On wikipedia, it talked about Elliott having a distinctive vocal style "characterized by his whispery, spiderweb-thin delivery and use of multi-tracking to create vocal layers, textures, and harmonies". I said I'd do an entry on Armor for Sleep today. Armor for Sleep was an alternative rock band from New Jersey. They are similar to bands in such as Matchbook Romance, Taking Back Sunday and Hawthorne Heights.

I was on AbsolutePunk today and I noticed We Shot the Moon's new album, A Silver Lining, is now streaming here. They're a pop/rock band with the lead singer of Waking Ashland, Jonathan Jones, and some members from Sherwood. Since you can already stream We Shot the Moon, I thought I'd include a download link for Waking Ashland.

I'm on this site called Swaptree that you can use it to trade things in for books, DVDs, CDs, video games, etc. I'm mentioning this because I've gotten a lot of CDs there for free. They use to be on the label Fueled by Ramen, but left and started their own record label (they never really said why they left, but I think a lot of it had to do with FBR not giving a lot of attention to them). Poll I've been using Creative EP 630 (and 830) for a couple years and I really like them. They give good quality sound and are noise isolating so they work really well for blocking out noise. They're pretty affordable too. For some reason, mine keep breaking though and never use to have that problem. It seems like one ear always goes out.. It might be ( Read more... )
