Oh yea. It's the fall of my senior year. I can't believe how fast it's going by. This time next year I'm going to be somewhere else in the country. (Yea, I'm not brave enough to look into studying in Europe or anything...or even the west coast for that matter.) Okay, so more on those possible other places. Wow, it's been a while. Anyway, Brevard was wonderful. Playing in orchestra everyday, playing in a good chamber group, and just mingling with really talented musicians was a wonderful thing for me to be doing this summer. So I'm here at my second day in Brevard, North Carolina at a Music Festival. I'll be here until August 11th, for those of you who care. It's so gorgeous here. I'm literally in the forest of a mountain. The place is 140 sq. acres on the side of a mountain, complete with streams, rocky (and slippery) paths, bugs, and 60-yr old cabins. But it's nice. I got into Brevard!!!!! I was selected as one of the four clarinets in the upper division! I will be rotating in on the faculty orchestra and playing in the college orchestra! I'm so freaking excited! 8 weeks in North Carolina playing in an orchestra....amazing. Nick got a stage management internship there too! So we're going to be there together ( Read more... )

This semester has been all about preparing for my audition CDs for summer music festivals. I really want to get into Brevard. It's 7 weeks of orchestral training in North Carolina.
