I can look at my old art and laugh. I can insult myself and realize how much I've improved. I always get this little burst of joy whenever I look at an old piece of art, because WHOO-HOO! I've gotten so much better since then.

*snorts* I know what you mean. I think the thing with art is that you know what's in your head won't come out right on the paper because that just somehow gets lost on the way. And plus it's sometimes hilarious to look at because it's so bad.

With writing, you're trying to get your stream of consciousness to come out in words, and when it doesn't happen, it's both frustrating and, when reviewing old works, embarrassing.
