seems to be fitting in very, very well

You know, the worst part of writing porn is...having to write the porn. Like, the set up was fun and there's some character work that I like, but I've written a lot of sex scenes over the years and it's just difficult to make them sound fresh and hot and in character ( Read more... )

Well, I just posted a fic in which two guys get into a relationship with each other as substitutes for their dead partners...who were walking talking sentient cell phones.

So, y'know, Rule 34 and all that :D

(Seriously, though, everyone should watch Keitai Sousakan 7 and the mad love between the main characters and their cell phone buddies.)

Rule 34 is amazingly apropos in so many situations.

I am also having an age gap crisis thanks to the stupid ice skating anime, where the younger guy is WAY TOO FUCKING YOUNG to have any kind of crush on older skater/coach guy but ugh, if they were close in age i would ship them so hard it would be ridiculous, and having this third guy right smack of the middle of their ages is not assuaging my guilt.

I'm just going to ignore it and maybe i won't have to write it. sometimes that works.

I mean, several of my favorite pairings have large age gaps, so I can't really talk, but can the younger one at least be aged up to adulthood? Does that help?

it does and doesn't. right now they are 15/27, so going to like 20/33 is slightly less alarming, but ultimately still alarming because ugh that's like if I dated a sophomore in college which I'm 1000% sure i should not do, but also the younger kid wants the guy to be his coach, so it's not quite as bad as being teacher/student, but nnngh it's really close. It's probably too close for me to get over, even if you swing it like "well he never actually DOES coach him" but honestly even the idea of that being the basis of their relationship makes me uncomfortable.

in side news, i'm weirded out that the 15yo might be my favorite character and wish they'd had the decency to at least make him 18 or something. He's such a feisty brat! no fair!

Yeah, I guess I tend to be more okay about those age gaps where it's also a really desperate/people on the run/superpowers are involved kind of thing where they don't really have anyone but each other (see: Mal/River, Nick/Cassie, Logan/Rogue), rather than a more regular mentor/mentee situation and there is always a lot of angst about it from the older party.
