Hi! I'm enjoying it so far - I'm probably about halfway done - and you're right. It has a much less snarky voice than some of her other books, and it's a nice change.

I imagine coming off the loss of Lowell plus that she made Drake a zombie plus her guilt for having doubted his goodness added up to a larger emotional whammy than perhaps their romantic history alone might warrant.

I guess I can see that, especially since she meets his mom.

I don't get the joke either if it's the actor's name and I don't think we heard the character's name, but it could be the military contractor, which is FILLMORE GRAVES.

My fave moment might be Don E banjo a la Ken Burns's Civil War, but it has a LOT of competition.

That was great! I also loved Ravi's video game code when he talked to Major in jail. And Ravi using the fire extinguisher on Janko. Also, "Prison party. White people."

izombie, omg. i can see how they originally wrote the episodes as a series finale and then had to redo the second one as just a season finale, but it totally worked. and i totally missed fillmore graves! i couldn't catch the contractor's name, the few times someone mentioned it. rob thomas likes puns, doesn't he. i'm ok with that.

i feel really good about rita eating vaughn's brains, because if anyone deserved to snack on his gray matter, it wa her. i admit i was kind of surprised when major shot her, but her whole existence on the show seemed to revolve around vaughn, so i'm not sure what they could have done with her without him.

i'm definitely bummed about chief's death, tho. and i don't think blaine is faking, but i can't tell and i don't really trust him.

oh, and ravi's his squad's leader in call of duty, he totally knows what he's doing. :D hitting janko with the fire extinguisher, and then accidentally killing the guy, and then wanting to turn himself in to the cops for murder was a priceless sequence of events. as ( ... )

I mean, I'm thrilled we're getting more, but I'm also glad that they were going to wrap it up if we weren't.

I only caught it because I had closed captioning on, but yes. The pun business names are so great.

I think having a season 3 will allow them to decide one way or the other - if this had been the series finale, it could have been a bit of redemption for him, but now he can be faking or it could have been real earlier but his memory is coming back etc. so they can keep him around and go either way as the story dictates.

Ravi is the best! ♥

I'm looking forward to seeing how the series handles our new zombie Blackwater overlords next season.

Ravi was pretty badass against Janko. He's also too decent a guy not to get upset over his first kill, even if it was an accident.

When the show initially introduced Major, I never thought I would come to enjoy him so much, though my enjoyment started around the time of his Meat Cute raid. (Yeah, he'll take the grenade too....)

I also have to say that I enjoy how they use music in iZombie, not just the "Unwell" but also the elevator music and the "Oooooh, child, things are gonna get easier...." the gatekeeper had playing. (Though nothing can top the use of "Der Kommissar" last season for me.)

Yeah, it will be somewhat different, I think, but I'm glad Clive is in the know!

It's like Rob Thomas learned from the mistake he made with Duncan Kane.

They also did that really well on VMars.

I don't love that poem as much as I have others you've shared, but that's some fascinating imagery.
