Board meeting went well (new boss1 hugged me afterwards!!!) though it felt like it took me forever to get home (in reality, it was only an hour, but that's because for some reason there were no non-express uptown buses on 3rd Avenue; finally the 1st Avenue bus showed up [detoured onto 3rd for some reason] so I took that, and because it wasn't the ' ( Read more... )

I have no clue how you feel about spoilers but pictures on Instagram and twitter, etc., really have made it very, very hard to keep things like Felicity's fate a secret. No matter how many times SA says that anyone can die on this show, the truth is that they can't kill Felicity at this point. This isn't Game of Thrones. I strongly feel they aren't going to ever be able to kill any of the OTA. Not to mention the inverse trajectory of Oliver's emotional journey in the current timeline vs flashbacks...

Yeah, I have no fear that Felicity is actually going to die. I don't think we'll find out who's in the grave until 4-5 eps from the end of the season. We shall see.

Yeah, I've read that there are pictures of her still filming etc. and with the ring on so they're not flashbacks. And also, I can't see them actually killing their female lead. It just makes no sense on any level. I mean, I can see them doing it, because so many shows have done shit like that, and also comics, but realistically, it seems like it would be an insurmountable problem for the show.

I agree, they wouldn't kill her off like that. I will be hugely surprised if they're not subverting the whole Women in Fridges trope. It would be too stupid, killing off their most likable character. (If I had to wager on who's in the grave, I'd say Lance, after some heroic, redeeming, self-sacrifice.)

Yeah, I've been thinking it's going to be Lance, too - with Laurel insisting she doesn't need protecting and him being torn up about working with Darhk, it looks like a noble sacrifice is in the cards for him.

And I hope they're subverting that trope, but with comics properties I never really feel certain that they won't just kill the girlfriend (despite the other roles she fulfills) to ramp up the manpain.
