Could you not say you believed me?

My work caller ID just lit up with the name Naz,Gul. As if that comma would fool me. I did not answer it. I see you there, ringwraith. There are no Bagginses here!

(Listen, I need some comic relief from whiny board members.)

RE: Shades of Milk and Honey

I completely agree with you! IDK if it was self-published, but man the formatting sucked. If it was put out by a traditional publisher, I've never seen a pro ebook with such terrible formatting before. Also, the need to spell certain words differently to...IDK, denote the time period? The fantasy-esque setting?...was super annoying to me. But that is a pet peeve of mine. Just spell the word the way it is meant to be! Creative "misspelling" does not make it super neat or fantastical AT ALL.

I did find the setting charming and the characters fun, if predictable. But I, too, was in no rush to pick up book 2.

Ugh, while I get that it was a period-appropriate spelling, it was so annoying! And I don't get what was up with the formatting, but it really needs to be re-edited to fix it.

But yeah, it was a cute easy read and I'll probably read the rest at some point, but I wasn't feeling compelled to do so immediately.

Huh. They did a lousy job formatting it as an ebook.

Do you like eShakti? I keep seeing their ads on my FB sidebar. Their dresses have this nice timeless look, your choice of sleeve styles, and of course, pockets. It would be nice to hear from someone who's ordered something.

Naz,Gul! You were right to refuse the call. They might track you down to Weathertop and all hell will break loose.

I do like them! I'm too lazy to do the custom sizing (and I've only removed sleeves, never added them on the custom styles part), so I just go up a couple sizes since some of the things that are actually my size in store-bought clothes are too small in the chest from eShakti, but I have four or five dresses from them now and I love them all. Dresses with pockets! So amazing! And I do think the clothes have a nice timeless look to them.

that dress is adorable. and it has pockets! skirt pockets are always a plus.

i say nothing about izombie except that ravi continues to be THE BEST, and while i don't ship him and liv i totally get why people do. something about them together is really, really cute.

i would not have answered the phone either! good call there.

Yes, the first time I realized one of the dresses I'd bought there had pockets I was SO GLEEFUL. POCKETS. ON A DRESS. GREAT INVENTION OR GREATEST INVENTION?

I watched iZombie last night and Ravi is indeed THE BEST. And oh, my heart broke for Liv.

I was really excited to read Shades of Milk and Honey because the description made it sound right up my alley. It turned out to be...ok? I felt like it was really lightweight and while it was fun I had no desire to go on or to even reread it at any point.

Unfortunately I said as much in a comment thread the author was also reading. Whoops.

Yeah, I don't think I'd reread it either. It was fun but not as fun as I'd hoped.

Unfortunately I said as much in a comment thread the author was also reading. Whoops.

Eep. That is awkward.

I have about a half a dozen eShakti dresses, and I like them a lot, but it bums me out that most of their dresses (including most of the ones I've gotten from them) are poplin -- I feel like when I walk the skirt gets sort of scrunchy/boxy rather than swishing :(

I've noticed that some of them don't swish, but it doesn't bother me that much. I do have a couple that are lighter, swishier material too, though, so I guess I'm not missing out.
