One of my roommates is big on "non-fiction" shows about how every impressive feat of human ingenuity, imagination, and engineering in antiquity is actually due to aliens, but I find it really depressing.

Oy. At least this posits that everything - good and bad, past and present - has been the aliens. Not just the super cool stuff racists believe couldn't have been done by people of color.

The shows misdirected me by including Stonehenge, but you're right in that the broad majority of the things that had to have actually been done by aliens were feats by people of color. (Ex: Egyptian and South American pyramids had to be from aliens! Gag me.)
