Ugh back at work. So busy. Blah blah blah.

The internets tell me that WB/DC has actually scheduled a Wonder Woman movie for 2017 (see also here). Prayer circle that it actually happens and that it's actually good.

There's also a Suicide Squad movie listed, which - I keep meaning to read Suicide Squad, but I'm not sure exactly what parts are the ( Read more... )

The Flash is starting here on Monday (I think. Or the week after. ) and I am so looking forward to it I can't even tell you. I'm a long standing Jesse L Martin fan so anything that gets him on my TV screen is fine with me, if it's actually good it's a bonus!

And he also never ages so I get to use my Ed Green icon so bonus!

Mm...he does still look good. If you enjoy the more fun aspects of superheroes, I think you'll enjoy it.

I have not seen much of Arrow, will that hinder me?

And I do enjoy the fun aspect, I don't have patience at this stage of the game for anything that's too serious and angsty! Also ,I remember the John Wesley Shipp version from back in the day so I'm interested to see how it's different to that!

You only need to know Arrow exists; Flash doesn't rely on your knowing anything else, though Ollie does have a brief cameo in the Flash premiere.

Regarding a Wonder Woman movie, I'll believe it when I see it. *sigh* Apparently they're rebooting Green Lantern in 2020. It would be sweet if they went with John Stewart because then Idris Elba could play him, and who could say no to that? But I have relatively little hope.

I had to IMDB Ezra Miller. Apparently he was in "The Perks of Being a Wallflower," which I have not seen.

I need icons too.

Yeah, I feel like that is kind of a ways off and without seeing what they do with her in the Superman/Batman movie, I am filled with trepidation. But hopefully they'll get someone besides Goyer to write it.

I legit teared up at Joe and Barry scenes. Jesse L. Martin's FACE. My heart!

Harrison Wells! Surely his middle initial is G?

OooooOOOHHHHH. Of course! It's gotta be at least an homage, huh?

Ezra Miller was terrific in Perks of Being a Wallflower. His role (he played an out gay kid who was severely bullied) required him to be both very flashy (hehe) and vulnerable, and he pulled it off very nicely.

I wish I could be psyched about various Justice League film projects but UGH ZACH SNYDER WHY.

I KNOW. I mean, I'm a sucker for parental validation anyway, but to have Barry apologize, and so soon, really meant a lot in terms of keeping him likeable. Like, you can get away with "You're not my REAL dad" when you're 9, maybe, but not so much at 25. (or however old he's supposed to be. He looks so YOUNG to me.)

I know! I feel like DC has taken the idea of giving people what they want in the worst possible way much too seriously.

PS: Where did you find the icon?

Barry *is* canonically 25. His mother was killed when he was 11, and the flashback to that scene says "14 years ago". But I agree, he has SUCH a baby face. Which suits the character at least (Grant Gustin is 24, so close enough).

I would be sorta excited about various DC comics film projects if the bulk of the directing duty was in anyone else's hand. I just really, really dislike Zack Snyder's work, period, both a visual stylist and in the dour, humorless tone he takes. UGH.

I looked around and couldn't find any decent Flash icon, so I made this one myself. *g* Hopefully after this week's ep, there would be more icons available! If not, I may make more myself.

Yeah, plus David Goyer's awful everything and dislike of comics. I don't have high hopes but I can't help wishing Wonder Woman, at least, gets a fair shake. It can't be as bad as the David E.Kelley version, can it?
