Listen, unsubstantiated rumors or not, the only way a Civil War type storyline works in Cap 3 is IF IT IS ABOUT BUCKY AND HIS ACTIONS AS THE WINTER SOLDIER, and people are torn over what's to be done about him (possibly featuring shirtless bear-wrestling. I am not even joking.). That's the only way you get any real stakes/emotional investment in ( Read more... )

It's very exciting to have landed in a fandom just in time to see it explode with ranting by people who don't really know anything yet. By 'exciting' I mean, thank god for Tumblr Savior.

Heh. It's seven months until Age of Ultron comes out, and then we have to wait another year for Cap 3! We need to do something to get the blood flowing in the meantime. *g*

I'm pretty sure that the Bucky scene was actually the last scene of the movie and they just put it in the post-credits bit because the mid-credits teaser is for the next movie. But you could be right! I personally think Cap 3 has to involve the search for Bucky because it's the thing that makes the most narrative/emotional/thematic sense, but what do I know?

They did say that! And hopefully it remains true despite Tony's presence. Bah.

i like that they're clearly just friends, and he's too stuck on katrina and too honorable to put the moves on abbie, and she respects him and katrina and their marriage too much to put the moves on him. but they certainly have enough chemistry for makeouts to be believable.

Yeah, I don't mind so much right now that Katrina makes them not-feasible as a couple on the show, but man, they have some mighty hot chemistry to avoid it forever.

Just in the structure and tone they've set up in the Cap movies so far the Civil War storyline makes no sense whatsoever. It would make sense maybe for an Avengers movie but not Cap.

Plus, nobody really has a secret identity to lose and they sure as heck don't have the number of heroes they'd need to pull off that kind of storyline.

I guess Feige said it would be about accountability? Which I guess makes sense, though I really don't want Tony mucking up the barbershop quartet movie I was looking forward to.

I know, and I love Tony. I just wanted this to be about Steve and Bucky's journey. Sure doesn't feel like it will be now but, I know we'll just have to wait and see where they take us.
