Itty-Bitty Orphan Black, an Orphan Black webcomic in the style of Tiny Titans. HEART.

I forgot Almost Human was even on, and didn't realize until I'd switched from football to channel 5 for Sleepy Hollow, so I'm guessing it's not really a must-watch for me, especially since last week I fell asleep during it and didn't really feel a need to ( Read more... )

Yeah, I'm sure the son is going to come back - the fact that they were so specific in naming what they did to him means that his heart will probably start up and he'll claw his way out of the grave looking for people to kill. *hands* I guess we'll see.

I think they were just really old? But maybe they were vampires? I don't know.

Then there can be father/son angst ala Angel/Connor...

YES PLEASE.

And that is probably why I thought the same thing about them being vampires. Their teeth were POINTY FFS. One of them even vaguely resembled Dru. Weird.

he failure to understand that choosing to channel your anger in a way that can potentially help rather than hurt others IS ACTUALLY THE HARDER FUCKING CHOICE. Lashing outward hurtfully is easy, and it's easy to rationalize doing so to oneself. It's much, much harder, IMO, to take what is arguably one of the most selfish* emotions and channel it in ways that are selfless. That Steve is able to do that makes me love him even more.

EXACTLY. Like, once you have the power, what do you DO with it? When you CAN win fights with one punch, should you still throw the punch or should you try to win in a more constructive way?

As for Sleepy Hollow, I guess we'll see what they do with Katrina in s2, because she never did coalesce as an interesting character for me in s1.

As Bucky says to him, 'right, and you've got nothing to prove' when Steve tells him why he continues to try to enlist. Steve wants to fight because he knows it's the right thing to do, but he also does totally want to prove that he can, especially since he's been repeatedly rejected.

Yes. This is the interesting element of Steve's personality that I see least often in fanfic; dude is not only angry, he turns to violence as a problem-solving method really quickly. Which is probably not a terrible thing for a soldier - I mean, a pacifist supersoldier was not their goal - but... I don't know, he's always portrayed as the polite upstanding nice guy, which he is, but he's also got a real... mean streak is not the right word. I'm going to go back to "instinctively violent ( ... )

And punching! Well, attempted punching. But yes, you're right, "temper" is probably the best way to put it.

Yes. He definitely has a temper, as LaT says. I also think it's a function of growing up when/where/how he did - poor and orphaned on the streets of Brooklyn. I'm pretty sure it was fists up at all times to survive, and he spent a lot of time getting the shit kicked out of him even with Bucky's intervention.

I also wish they'd given us more of his flagpole kind of smarts after he got big, in both movies, though I guess him orchestrating the hydra raids in CA:TFA and going off and investigating the weapons locker in Avengers shows his ability to figure things out, but he's always going to do it in an actiony kind of way.

And I love that ( ... )
