I'm admitting now that most of this post left me all flaily- clappy hands. Pembleton! Brooklyn Nine-Nine! (Holt finally succumbing and doing the wave last episode just about made me fall of the couch laughing. Why are there not a million gifs of that on the internet?!) Arrow! The Good Wife!

It's odd for me to watch Stephanie Beatriz, after seeing her in plays here at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival for a couple of years. I love that she seems to enjoy the role, but it's odd to see her on my screen rather than on a stage.

I'm so glad that you have some history with Arrow, I have none but the show, so I like reading about your perspectives on the character opportunities, options, and changes. It opens up the "world" of Arrow a wee bit for me.

See below for a link to a gif of Holt doing the wave! The Internet provides!

I'm glad that the show works for people who don't have familiarity with the DCU, because that means it can continue to reach a large enough audience to not be canceled!

While I know next to nothing about the Flash, I did remember hearing something about lightning figuring into his origin story, so his rants about wrong chemicals being next to each other while there was a lighting storm going on outside made me snicker. He was cute, even though he was a fetus. He reminded me of Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker more than anything ( ... )

I don't know much about Barry Allen-as-the-Flash, but yeah, lightning and chemicals feature in his origin, so that was a sweet little tease.

Like, Oliver has HAD it with punk kids messing with his day, yo

Hee! Yes.

There are so many freakin' things going on with show, I can barely keep track, but it sure ain't boring.

Yes! And I like that it's gotten better steadily, so that now even when it's not the best episode it's still good, and things that happen matter.

Moira was so awesome with Malcolm there. I am actually really interested in how they end up using Ra's, even if we never see him, which seems like a smart way to play it, to me.

I hadn't even thought about the possibility of Kyle Secor playing Holt's husband! Probably a pipe dream but wouldn't it be awesome if he did?

SO AWESOME. I mean, if they do ever cast the character, I'm sure it will be fine, but in my heart it will always be Kyle Secor.

I tried Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and I adored Braugher and I could see possibilities in the other characters, but I just wasn't interested in a show that was about Peralta. I like my workplace comedies to be ensemble anyway, and even beyond that Peralta's super-annoying.

The show isn't as Peralta-centered as early episodes suggested. It's becoming ever more of an ensemble thing... which I appreciate since I don't like Peralta and I'm glad the show currently agrees that he can be an idiot.

Can you recommend any as particularly Peralta-light? Because I watched a couple of episodes, and then it sat around on my DVR accumulating eps, and I scrolled through the list and the blurbs were all Jake this and Jake that, and I said "nah" and deleted the folder and sub.

So far you can't get Peralta-light, but some episodes would definitely be a no-go for you since they're major Peralta, like the one with his favorite writer hanging around the precinct, the arson episode, or the Vulture episode. But I enjoy a lot of the other characters--Terry, Rosa, Holt--so much that I watch for them and zone out a bit during the moments when Peralta's the main feature.

Yay, I'm so glad you're watching Brooklyn Nine-Nine! It's such fun - Holt and Terry are my favorites, with Diaz and Santiago close behind. Andre Braugher has the most magnificent deadpan I've ever seen, and Terry just wants to get to the farmers' market! I could do without Peralta and Gina, but the rest of the crew is so good I don't even care.

He's AMAZING. I always knew he could be funny, but here he is TREMENDOUSLY funny.

Terry! I love him so much! "Kitten...cute...false sense of security...gun...death! ... I popped your pillow." ♥

Yeah, I think they both work much better the less we see them, but everyone else is awesome!

this post is making me want to rewatch homicide! mostly because i can.... and i never saw it from the beginning. and because there's never a bad time to bask in the glory that was bayliss and pembleton. (especially pembleton. every year andre braugher wasn't nominated for an emmy pissed me and my mom right off.)

I keep meaning to do that. Sigh. Sometime soon, a rewatch is in order!
