Also, can I just say, I really hate the AV Club redesign. Also, disqus. What a terrible commenting system.
Yes and YES. Disqus is so terrible, I don't understand why anyone uses it. The new Disqus is a little better than the old Disqus, though, but it still doesn't display everything coherently, especially when you click a comment notification.

SO TERRIBLE.

I hate that when you click to see new comments it just jumps you to the top without showing you which comments are new! What even is that?

You know what I ship? Jenny & Captain Irving. You know what I don't ship, Crane and his epic manpain. I mean, the guy is justified in that everyone he ever loved is gone and his wife lied to him constantly about everything, but they really laid it on thick and at the last moment with the baby. Can we just have the Mills girls be Cranes descendants and call it done?

I like that they mostly shut his manpain down, though. Previously, Abbie was like, "no time for your manpain, Crane!" I hope they continue in that vein going forward.

Yeah I think a few minutes to axe a bleeding tree that possibly killed your unknown son is not asking for too much in the "epic manpain" dept.

Wow this show makes me type weird sentences.

*nod nod*

I didn't think they dwelt on his manpain at all - I mean, they *could* amp it up going forward, but hopefully they'll continue to play it as "it sucks that he's lost so much but we have an apocalypse to stop."

Oh, man, I would have LOVED to have seen a flamethrower.

The AV Club redesign is terrible! I can't follow shows any more, unless I am just too stupid to figure out how.

Yeah, it took me a couple days to figure out how to login and ugh, it's just so awful.

Hi, I am new here. Your site was the first that I came to and I really enjoyed your sense of humor and style. I hope that my blog will be just as worthy. I find I don't seem to have as much free time as I use to have to write. Oh well.... Hello anyway!

evil ents! batshit, man. i kinda liked the creeping horror, altho ichabod and lena crawling into the, er, crawl space and NOT WAITING FOR ABBIE TO CATCH UP was horror-movie-stupid. altho i guess ichabod is totally unfamiliar with the YOU NEVER SPLIT UP IN A HAUNTED HOUSE trope, and lena was too panicked and just wanted to find a way out of the damn place. i did like abbie having another vision (ish) and then finding out she and jenny are descended from the lady of the house. altho now i want to know who's descended from baby crane. and was the lady of the house also a witch?

jenny and irving are pretty fun, and i loved his daughter and would like to see more of her.

and oh god, katrina's flashback hair was terrible. and of all the main characters, i care the least about her, but at least she has something to do now besides just deliver exposition and be cryptic.

Yeah, Ichabod gets a pass on not being genre-savvy, but Abbie should know better!

I also want to know who Crane's descendents are, though I also wouldn't be surprised if Moloch took the baby, since he is the demon of baby-sacrifices.

and of all the main characters, i care the least about her,

Up until this episode, where she did something only she could do, I've felt like they've just done whatever the plot needed with her character. Oh, she's a Quaker nurse, oh she's engaged to Ichabod's best friend, etc. I want more witchcraft and less exposition.

Your theory sounds right to me. I thought the thing she wasn't telling him was that she was pregnant when she got trapped in purgatory or wherever she is, or that she'd miscarried after making a deal with Moloch, but now that there was an actual baby, I think you are likely right.
